Hi,
after update a devuan ascii installation with the latest trinity update I get messeges from the x11 system wich says: "The r14-xdg-update script will attempt to repair the problems found during the previous sessions..."
Wenn click on "Continue" a new windos shows the message: "Some Trinity profile R14 XDG complaince updates failed. Check application-tdemenuedit.menue for '<Filename>kde-' in /var/tmp/tdecache-USER-r14-xdg-updte-violation-test9.txt"
Named File has the entry: "<Filename>kde-potracegui.desktop</Filename>" twice
When accept the shown message a new with "The r14-xdg-update script did not complete sucessfully... The error code is 9..."
This messages come up every time I log in - so the promised repair did not realy work.
What can I do to solve the error
This problem has been discussed two or three times on this list. Search the ML archives or have a look at this thread (r14-xdg-update script error when TDM is starting TDE, 30.3.2020): http://trinity-users.pearsoncomputing.net/?0::16852

Only problem is, now I get twice as many emails, the emotional toll has doubled, and I can't keep up any more.
I am getting duplicates from most people now, but I discovered something interesting in Nik's emails. (See attachments for comparison.)
We must remember to correct our "reply to" fields, etc. I create template emails to use, which is a wee bother as there is no shortcut, and its a slippery gui to navigate, for me to get to the TDE-NEW-mailing_list template, but maybe I'll create a shortcut. Once I've sent, any replies take care of themselves, I believe, and all the correct headers are in place.
You'll notice that, with Nik's headers, something is amiss.
Take the mail that comes from "trinity-users@..." and unsubscribe. Same thing happend to me some days ago :)

What I meant was, *your* headers are reversed.
TDE-users has trinity-users as "reply to" address; trinity-users has TDE-users and Nik (if I recall) as "reply to" addresses.
It is not a problem with the list, but I think Nik is sending out too much information on the old list. In the new list, his "reply to" gives the old list. I'm not complaining about the list; I am pointing out those details that Nik might not want.
Myself, I keep trying to make an email template, just for use on TDE-users, and I give sample screenshots here. But when I've attempted to send recent emails to the list, they stay in my outbox, and I am told that they cannot be sent due to unknown mail transport or something. I believe that means my Zoho mail account is being rejected for smtp, or is rejecting my emails to TDE-users, or something.
This is why I do not like change; even though I do know that it will happen despite all my best efforts to maintain order.
Bill
