AFAIK if you remember SuperKaramba, Plasmoids are pretty much the same concept with a completely different implementation.
Any KDE4 users, please correct me if I am wrong. :-)

I bet you are right but I have no idea what 'superkaramba' is. don't want to clog the list so I can just look up 'plasmoid'; I was just hoping for a quick fix for my ignorance. got what I deserved, I guess.
