I am using Wheezy amd64 .
me too
Failure of TDE to start indicates an issue, somewhere . Probaly best to
troubleshoot that than run LXDE, or other DE, and expect things to.
work.
I start running LXDE after TDE didn't start. And have no idea where to
look for troubleshooting.
/var/log/messages doesn't seam to notice any trouble (did a tail -f on the first text
console before starting TDE on F7).
At the first startup with a new user (which I added just for testing) let you run the
wizzard for the first startup and at some point, it all fails back to the kdm login.
I have tried, briefly..not much extra effort, to run TDE apps under
XFCE. There are PATH changes (apps & libs) that have to be manually
added.
