Perhaps I am a bit paranoid, but the support guy whose initials are SS, I also came to the conclusion was actually a plant, on the NSA payroll. Back to the subject, a graphical interface that would allow the user to be added to the groups he is interested in, and should normally be allowed by savvy admins to use those facilities, would simplify said admins job at keeping track of who can do what.
