Is the consensus of opinion that 10.5.12 is
steady and rock solid enough
for me it give it to someone else (a definite non-geek)? I get the
impression that 10.5.13 is still not bug-free enough for Just Using.

Using 3.5.12 on three systems (two of which are only accessed via vnc) with
no major problems. I'll wait for an official update to 3.5.13 before I try
it again.
