Which is exactly what I do. I also occasionally make suggestions when it
might be possible to improve something for everyone's benefit. If that
offends you for some reason, deal with it and keep it to yourself.
I would never have imagined I'd see people defending leaving a mailing list
open to spam, when it might be possible to easily eliminate it.
