OK so I restored Konq as that is obviously not the right way to do it. I
will keep looking. Thanks for the help.

So this is interesting I decided I wanted to try
the bull in a china shop
approach. I went into /opt/trinity/bin and moved Konqueror to
Konqueror.old
and created a sym link to pcman there instead.
Now if I click on the
default Konqueror icon on the task bar it opens pcman as it should but
if I
click any short cut on the desktop or elsewhere
Konqueror still opens
which
you would think at best I would get an error
saying it can't do what I
ask.
So where is it still finding Konqueror?
Possibly because it's not calling "konqueror".
My "home" button contains "kfmclient openProfile filemanagement"
