The same steps work to set most of the default applications in TDE (and I
think it's still the same in KDE4). However, as I mentioned, there are some
applications that apparently cannot be set as the default by that method -
KPDF is the one that most annoyed me, as I prefer it for my pdf reader, but
cannot set it as the default. It is curiouser still, because both Konqueror
and KPDF are KDE/TDE.
If anybody has some notion why it works for some applications but not
others, I would be interested to know.
Hi Bill,
It can be done, you're just in the wrong area to change that ;) as it’s a
Konqueror {default?} behavior that you’re needing to override.
In Konqueror:
- Settings >> Configure Konqueror >> File Associations
- Find filename patter: >> pdf
- Known Types >> {Select pdf}
- Select tab “Embedding”
- In “Left Click Action”:
- - Check “Use settings for ‘application’ group”
- - Un-check everything else
- - Verify KPDF is first entry*
* It’s first in both tabs for me.
Best,
Michael
