Re. Fetchmail, I was trying Trinity solely for KMail's freedom from Akonadification, and I shall stay with KMail for the time being, though
- for the time being - not in Trinity.
Oh, it's quite an old bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=127696 http://forum.mandriva.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=79231
as in my case, my email provider "updated" his software and I had to work around.
Anyway, there are some other nice email clients around if you do not want to go the fetchmail road.
I didn't think of 'fetchmail' as an email _client_. you don't use it to read email, you use it to fetch email via pop or something.
I thought the original suggestion then wasn't to _replace_ kmail with fetchmail but to have kmail read the mail fetchmail has downloaded.
perhaps I misunderstand.
I have no idea if it would solve the problem - I haven't read the bug report.
grüsse!

Yes, I wanted to suggest that as a workaround one could use fetchmail to download the mails, procmail for local delvery and kmail for reading and writing.
But some users have strong objections against a daemon fetching their mail, so maybe an other client gives a better feeling ... where one has to keep in mind that changing from maildir to mailbox format bears its own pitfalls like loosing any mail in one dark black moment ;-)
