In ~/.kde3/share/config, there is a file named kopeterc And also, in
~/.kde3/share/apps/, there is a folder named kopete. Can you try moving
both the file and the folder to a backup folder somewhere, and try the
Kopete Kwallet functions again? It is possible that kopete somehow put the
full path to kwallet files into its own configuration files, and therefore
cannot find Kwallet at the new prefix.
If this doesn't work, simply move your backed up file and folder to their
original locations, no harm done.
Thanks Tim. That wasn't the solution, but it led me to the solution.
Poking around those config files, I found that kopete was listed in
kwallet as "Always Deny", so of course it wasn't getting in.
I don't know how that happened, but it isn't happening anymore. I
wouldn't have found it without your suggestion.
