not misremembering.
Well, I suppose that there must be a reason, and a better question would
be: what is the reason?

It's only a matter of packager's choice.
I chose to use "trinity" as a prefix for .rpm packages, whereas the .deb
packager chose to use it as a suffix.
There is no technical reason.
