You should always do this via the manager (Kontact or Korganizer). This is
only one click for the user.

Thank you both! I wasn't aware of either of these. I had solved my problem by
tediously going through config files on two partitions, one with a working
Addressbook, the other with a non-working Addressbook.
Still lots of nooks and crannies of TDE that I have yet to explore. :-)
