I use Konqueror for preference for all of my GUI file management tasks. Every time I open a new tab for a different directory tree it defaults to 'Icon View', and I have to change it (again). Is there a way to tell Konqueror to open a tab with 'Tree View' instead?

There was already a thread on this subject, called "Konqueror default view mode -- how to make it ‘really’ permanent?" beginning on 2016-01-22 .

Thank you, Ken.
Thanks however when I open Konqueror I see my home directory in tree view. When I open a new tab and press the "home" icon I see icon view. I followed the instructions and restarted konq, but it does not help. I put tree view on top of preferred application for directory
I was wondering for some time how it can be defaulted, so the revival of this thread is a great opportunity to set it right.
thanks in advance

This is how I did it in an earlier version of konqueror
Within konqueror right click directory folder - choose properties - click the little button with the spanner icon - go to the embedding tab -if treeview isn't at the top of the list then move it up to the top (if treeview IS at the top of the list then, 'Heuston, we have a problem' ) - ok it
That should permanently solve the default directory view.

but my problem is of different nature, because, when I open konqueror I see it in trieeview. now following the first post, I moved tree view on top and I can see it it is definitely on top, but when I open a new tab and click the home icon it still opens in icon view or whatever
