New install, Wheezy:i386
three uers on the system, includes root. "/opt/trintity/" only gets added to the PATH of one user. No mention of trinity stuff in "~.bashrc, ~.profile, /etc/profile, /etc/bash.bashrc".
I know how to change the PATH using the above files, want to know how TDE does it, or fails to, on install.
TIA

i would like to extend greg's question with one that points the other way. for a couple of versions now, if i try to use the kmenu > System Settings
Disk & Filesystems, I get: "The module Disk & Filesystems could not be
loaded. The diagnostics is: Library files for 'libpython2.7.so' not found in paths." The same thing results if I try to load the "User Management" module.
Problem is: $ locate libpython2.7.so /opt/calibre/lib/libpython2.7.so.1.0 /usr/lib/libpython2.7.so /usr/lib/libpython2.7.so.1 /usr/lib/libpython2.7.so.1.0 /usr/lib/python2.7/config/libpython2.7.so
should i be symlinking this to someplace else? i've not encountered a situation where /usr/lib is not on the library path.

Hello, the PATH variable is modified by the "startkde" (or "starttde" in R14) script. There is nothing needed in profile or bashrc.

This is an issue in the build procedure in the "tde-guidance" package. You can still run the guidance utilities directly outside the Trinity Control Center. There are 5 utilities:
/opt/trinity/bin/grubconfig /opt/trinity/bin/mountconfig /opt/trinity/bin/serviceconfig /opt/trinity/bin/userconfig /opt/trinity/bin/wineconfig
See: http://bugs.trinitydesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1188
If it still does not work, then the build issue is more severe than I think :-)
Anyway, the Guidance utilities will be deprecated in R14, some there is little hope their bugs are fixed. Unless someone manages to make them work in R14 ...
