Hi everyone! Anyone who have tried my LiveCD would have seen that when you click on ''Storage media'' in Dolphin, you have to click on refresh to see the list of the drives you can mount. Also, if I do a ''safely remove'' on a usb key, I have to click on refresh to see the drive as unmounted. Ok, I'll admit that there is more important problems than this in the world, but It would be nice to have a kind of auto-refresh in that window.
Is this problem caused by the underlying changes in Linux (with DBUS, UMOUNT, HAL, ...) or it is just a small problem in Dolphin? Does the next release of TDE will get better support for that?
Happy New Year! -Alexandre
With automount enabled, Krusader seems to have no such problems. And is IMO much nicer to use. Robert

Why, when you have gone to the trouble of installing TDE and konqueror-trinity, and have a vastly superior file manager to Dolphin, are you doing anything at all with Dolphin???
Incidentally, your live CD installed beautifully on my husband's new computer. I was only using it as test, because he wants Squeeze and TDE, but I was tempted to leave it. It may yet go back on! Apart from his wish for Squeeze, I was a little worried about the upgrade path. But thank you for your sterling work.

It ended up being very easy to install TDE with the packages made by Francois Andriot!

I like the side-bar of Dolphin and the way it works with the file previews. Surely, it has far less options than the others, but I like it and it is kind-of more modern than Konqueror. I prefer Dolphin from KDE 4 as it as much more evolution (and tabs...), but it seems to me that PCmanFM and Thunar doesn't look too well integrated with TDE. BUT: When I do true work, not just looking for a file, I often use Midnight Commander...
