Hello. After upgrading to Debian Jessie and TDE 14.0.1, I got problems with drag and drop between Konqueror and other non-TDE applications. For example I can't drag into FileZilla to upload file anymore. Is it a result of some modification, or maybe I forgot to install some "interoperation" package? MCbx

Can you provide more info? Upgraded from 3.5.13.2 to 14.0.1? Or from 14.0.0 to 14.0.1? What happens when you try to drag and drop? Do you have an error? Nothing happens? Application crashes?
Cheers Michele
Hello It's a fresh Debian 8 install. After dragging into Filezilla's window, I'm getting just a "no-drop" icon, like I get when I drag to non-droppable parts. In 3.5.13.2 it was OK, I could drop a file to remote window. Dragging between Konqueror and Konqueror or inside other apps works well. MCbx

Ok, thanks. So I take you moved from 3.5.13.2 to R14.0.1, is it correct? The no-drag behavior may be a bug or may be caused by something else. Are you NOT able to drag-and-drop from Konqueror to any other non-TDE applications? Or just specific applications? For example can you drag from Konqueror and drop to Firefox? This works on my system, just as a comparison. When you used 3.5.13.2, were you using the same Firezilla version or another one? May be they blocked drag-and-drop some some reasons I am not aware of.
I am just trying to find out were the problem lies (TDE or not TDE) based on your feedback ;-)

I can't drag from Konqueror to Filezilla on 3.5.13.2. I can drag to Iceweasel (=Firefox - I am using Debian).

Perhaps it is really a Firezilla problem?? Googling 'drag and drop to filezilla' brings out several posts about the impossibility of drag-and-dropping, not just in Linux.

Debian 8 (Jessie) FileZilla 3.14.0, there was also 3.9.0.5 from Debian's repository - the same thing. I can drag to Firefox/PaleMoon, LibreOffice and even Wine app (wow! At last it works!). I tried 3.4, 3.5, 3.7 - the same thing. Maybe Debian Jessie's related thing? MCbx

Sorry, I made a mistake (not cd'ing to bin) and launched the same FZ 3.14.0 from my system path all time. The real situation is: - The last version that supports drops from Konqueror is 3.8.1 - All later versions don't allow dropping from Konqueror. - Now the strange thing: I still can drop into new FileZilla from e.g. Firefox (when in file:// mode). It's not in Konqueror. I can't drag and drop from Iceweasel (Firefox) to Filezilla.
As Michele said, it really doesn't seem to be anything whatsoever to do with Konqueror, TDE, Debian or even Linux. It seems to be Filezilla.

Maybe the code used to handle the dropping has changed from FZ v3.8.1 and newer versions. If you can drop from Firefox, then it means it should be possible to drop also from other apps. Still not sure where the problem lies. Perhaps Firefox and Firezilla shares some common code, don't know. On the other hand, if we can find a way to fix it we do not want to screw up drag-and-drop with all the others apps that are now working. My feeling is that it is more a FZ problem as already said, but I still have a small margin for doubts.

I've posted in FZ's forum. There is definitely something wrong with FZ reacting on dropping, because: 1. Dragging from Konqueror to folder in FileZilla's directory tree works well. 2. Dragging from Konqueror to FileZilla's files panel doesn't work. 3. Dragging from Konqueror to FileZilla's file panel with Ctrl pressed works. I don't know how Linux distinguishes copy/move from drag and drop, but probably FZ fails to detect them properly. MCbx

Ok, that definitely seems to point towards a FZ bug. Keep us informed in case something relevant comes up from the FZ forum. Cheers Michele
