Since I've reinstalled Trinity on my OpenSuSE Leap 15 machine, Konqueror (kfmclient openProfile filemanagement) sometimes crashes when I move the cursor over the entry for a PDF file (any PDF file). If I'm quick enough, I can right-click and select Open With... kPDF.) Tonight I tried to send the crash report that results to Trinity, but it just hangs there, 'waiting to connect...' How can I get that info into your hands?

Hi Leslie, since you are running on opensuse, you can check out the build monitoring page on OBS https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor/home:PunisherHD:Trinity:r14.0.x --> for R14.0.x https://build.opensuse.org/project/monitor/home:PunisherHD:Trinity:unstable --> for R14.1.x
Not sure if packages for opensuse are progressively released by Francois. A rough guess is probably "no". Hope this helps.
Cheers Michele

I guess I don't understand enough about the way Trinity is packaged to use these tools. I'm trying to see if the fix(es) for the konqueror/pdf crashes have made it into the OpenSuSE repositories, but there is no mention of either of these components in these lists, nor of the packages (trinity-konqueror and trinity-pdf) that contain them; nor is there any date information there.

Hi Leslie, what you are looking for is probably here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:PunisherHD:Trinity:r14.0.x/tdeb...
Click on the distro you are interested in the top right corner to see the build result. For example something like this: https://build.opensuse.org/package/binaries/home:PunisherHD:Trinity:r14.0.x/...

Okay, now I'm more confused than ever. All of the files in the production OpenSuSE repository are at Version: 14.0.5-1.oss150, and are what I have installed; while the pages you have pointed me to appear to be pointing to 14.0.6 lp150 (e.g. trinity-konqueror-14.0.6-lp150.14.1.x86_64.rpm), apparently an entirely different repository?

As far as I see, there are three repos in suse building system: - - stable (R14.0.5) - - unstable (R14.1.0 development) - - r14.0.x (which is R14.0.6 development).
The pdf fix will be in r14.0.x but not in stable.

Okay. As far as I can see, the Trinity website only shows the first of these repos; I was not aware of the other two. It's not clear to me if r14.0.x is as stable as "stable"? :-)

R14.0.x is the next stable and will become R14.0.6 at some point. You can take is as "quite to very" stable :-) R14.1.x will become the next R14.1.0 (some time next year) and is usually quite stable as well, although less than R14.0.x since more development is involved.

Would it be safe to pull only certain components (e.g. Konqueror, Kpdf, Kate) from the R14.1.x repo, without upgrading everything?

That does not seem to be a good idea. Between R14.0.x and R14.1.x there may be changes in API as well as ABI. This could be a cause for trouble. If you want a stable system and also new fixes, the r14.0.x repository is the right way.

Okay. Is there a reason, then, that the R14.*.x repository isn't mentioned in the "Installation" instructions? It seems to me that there ought to be something about it, perhaps showing the link and explaining the difference between that and the R14.*.0 repo.
