Hello everyone!
I would like to inform you that as a little Christmas gift I have prepared a live / install CD Ubuntu Precise with Trinity 3.5.13.1.
Includes a basic set of Trinity components and applications, including localization in seven selected languages: English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish and Czech of course :)
It is prepared as 64 bit and also 32 bit ISO. And are already available to download from mirrors:
http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/cdimages/thirdparty/ubunt...
Comments and suggestions for future LiveCD releases are welcome.

Czech is necessary for me to be able to easily test resulting LiveCDs :)

Then it's a very good thing indeed. Thanks for the Christmas present!

Thanks, Slávek. Downloading now - takes a few hours with my s l o w internet connection.
Comments and suggestions for future LiveCD releases are welcome.
MD5SUMs please, either included in the announcement or added to the mirrors.
Seasons greetings, Glen

Yes, I can confirm - both corresponds to files that I have here - in the original.

Thanks Jonesy and Slavek.
:-) Thanks,
I just installed 12.04 last night and updated with TDE :-). LOL.
TDE networking doesn't work with it is the only thing I noticed, just up to 10.10 with ubu.
Thanks for your efforts!
Merriest Christmas to all!

The 32-bit ISO won't boot because it says the CPU (Pentium M) doesn't support PAE. Would it be possible to make a version with a non-PAE kernel?

Slavek,
I finally got around to trying it on a machine with PAE support, and I can't figure out how to make networking work, either wired or wireless. There are no network applets that I can find, or anything to control and monitor network interfaces. What am I missing?
Thanks.

The problem lies in the fact that Ubuntu starting with Oneiric and Debian starting with Wheezy contain NetworkManager version 9. And knetworkmanager in 3.5.13.x branch is compatible only with NetworkManager version 8.
The solution will be in the Trinity R14. Until then, it is necessary to use another applet. The LiveCD for 3.5.13.1 unfortunately none of these applets contains.

So how do I make networking work with this live CD? I tried both wired and wireless with ifconfig, but couldn't get either to do anything.

Slavek, or anyone else, how can I get networking on this live CD? Surely there must be a way, but I can't find it.
I'm setting up two machines today and had to go with XFCE. I have to set up 2 or 3 more in the next week or two and would really like to have Trinity on them. But I can't do it without networking.

Desktops or laptops? Respectively - is sufficient to setup the network at system level or network will configure users (wifi)?
The network card is recognized? Look in /sys/class/net, if there is eth0, wlan0 or something like that.

One desktop, others are laptops. Wired networking would be enough to start. Then I can download whatever I need for wifi.

Both eth0 and wlan0 are there.

Best workaround for 3.5.13.x would be to install nm-applet. As Slavek mentioned, native NetworkManager 0.9+ support has been written and is currently in testing for R14.0.0.

The problem is, I have NO network connection, wired or wireless, so can't install anything. I need to get a network connection first.

Quoth Dan Youngquist.....
There is neither allow-hotplug nor iface on the live CD.
Is there a NIC detected?
Try ifconfig. If it shows eth0 then....
ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.100 route add default gw 192.168.1.200
edit /etc/resolv.conf to add a nameserver; insert a line
nameserver 192.168.1.200
(obviously replacing 192.168.... with your IP addresses in all the above).
That should get your networking up.
If there's no eth0 shown in the first ifconfig then you'll need to load the NIC driver. Shout if that's the case and further suggestions will be forthcoming.

Dan has previously confirmed that in /sys/class/net has both eth0 and wlan0. With the availability of devices should not be the problem.

If dhcp server is not available in your network, you must write ip configuration into interfaces file and nameserver into /etc/resolv.conf. For example:
allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.2.5 network 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.2.1
