I'm hoping to retire Ark for BigDaddy or Slackware if and when TDE makes it there. I hope to gain enough skill to do it meself.
I doubt that TDE will ever make an official entry in Slackware nonetheless some people have made build scripts or even packages. Here are some:
- https://sourceforge.net/projects/tde-slackware
- https://github.com/Ray-V/tde-slackbuilds
- http://www.inpito.org/trinity.php
I do have my own scripts but everything is installed in /usr/{bin,lib64} and I don't know if they conflict with KDE (which is not installed...)
cheers. @+
Thanks Gregory
I'll look into this ASAP. I appreciate the info.
As for KDE, It's not likely I'll have it installed to any significant degree since it's mostly useless (no offense to anyone) in a work environment.
And I wouldn't count slackware out when it comes to adopting TDE. They pay attention to what works. TDE works.
Again, thanks for the info and happy father's day (if applicable).

Well then...if you feel like toying around with my scripts, here they are, I've just uploaded them:
svn co https://svn.riouxsvn.com/trinity-pot
if you do so, please read all notes, you might want to change the optimization cpu flags (those arm are for the rasperry pi first generation, Slackware builds with "-O2 -fPIC" for x86_64 arch...).
You might want an other language than French for the tde-i18n, add fakeroot, etc.
They haven't been updated for quite some time but they should work ; when TDE 14.0.5 will be release I'll upgrade and improve them (speex, gsm detection for instance).
cheers. @+

I do believe that there is a version of Slackware with TDE already installed. I was considering running Slackware, and this was a couple years ago, more or less. If you look round, I'm sure you'll find the pages. When I get myself back together in the next few days, I'll see if I can find it myself.
