I don't want my computer to turn off when it is unattended. How do I turn off 'Energy Star (DPMS)'? Clearing the Box in the GUI does not work.

When you say "computer", do you mean the screen? If so, try xset -dpms and see if that helps.
Or do you mean your computer is actually shutting down? If so, is it entering suspend mode? Hibernate mode? Or is it completely shut down?

Maybe try the bios? I believe you can completely turn off power management there.

I just checked the GUI app and it appears that the Energy Star (DPMS) Has been disabled. thank you. George
