Hello, I would like to (roughly) know whether there are plans for supporting other Linux distributions than Ubuntu? I for example use Suse. It would be great if the KDE 3.5 would be available at some time as (just!) an alternative desktop in the standard distributions. Are there plans/hopes regarding this? I have experience in installing mathematical software, but I would guess that KDE can't just be installed locally, and there is quite a risk that it might destroy your working system, or? So I would think that for me, as a user, for using KDE 3.5 it has to come in some form supported by standard distributions. Thanks for your time! Oliver

I would like to add that a Trinity developer is working on .spec files for RPM builds, so while there is no official timeline, a Trinity RPM repository may come on line in the future. Unlike the OpenSUSE version of KDE3, Trinity is under active development and not only contains many new features, but also accepts new bug reports, so an RPM repository for Trinity seems justified.

You may want to subscribe to the trinity-announce mailing list, as an announcement will be posted there when/if the RPM repository is ready for testing.
