Hello, everyone!
For the last 24c hours approx I can update from the mirrors and I can upgrade, but installation of a package (k3b-trinity) gets this far (no 404s):
Setting up cdparanoia (3.10.2+debian-9) ... Setting up cdrdao (1:1.2.3-0.1) ... Setting up genisoimage (9:1.1.11-1) ... Setting up dvd+rw-tools (7.1-6) ... Setting up k3b-data-trinity (4:3.5.13-0debian9+r1258943+pr3~squeeze) ... Setting up libartsc0-trinity (4:3.5.13-0debian9+r1261050+pr3~squeeze) ... Setting up libflac++6 (1.2.1-2+b1) ... Setting up wodim (9:1.1.11-1) ... E: Failed to fetch http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-v3.5.13/debian/po...: 403 Forbidden root@Hercules:/home/peter#
and attempts to install Trinity (as opposed to single packages) get 404 on everything from the beginning.
And why the 403?
Are we perhaps being rationed in some way?

Hello,
I tried to install kde trinity on a debian and i have some errors :
Err http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-v3.5.13/debian/sq... atlantik-trinity i386 4:3.5.13-0debian9+r1258286+pr3~squeeze 404 Not Found [IP : 10.152.31.220 8080]
It seems the mirror is not ready.
When we could use new mirrors ?
For information : http://depot-trinity.dotriver.eu/ is not ready. It 's so long to download all the files.
Maybe some people who create new mirrors could say me how long it takes for download ?
Sincerely,
Jean

Hi Lisi,
The transfer is taking a lot longer than I anticipated. The 403 error is due to an incomplete file transfer (in progress), so the public read permissions flag has not yet been set for that file.
I am working with the mirror maintainer to get one full copy of the TDE archives on his high speed mirror, then I will let the other mirrors initialize from that high speed mirror.
I apologize for the delay; TDE has been operating on a shoestring budget for the past several months due to a lack of donations and I cannot increase the project's upload bandwidth, even temporarily, as a result.

Thanks, Tim. We all obviously need to get our wallets out. You are doing a sterling job, and I, for one, am very grateful.
I did not understand the process. So it has all been a useful learning experience for me!

When the mirror system is running the current bandwidth is perfectly fine as far as I can tell. This would be more of a one-shot deal to increase bandwidth during the reinitialization of the mirror system.
I am exploring other avenues to get the initial data over to the high speed mirror at the moment. I just wanted to give a truthful explaination for the apparent tardiness of the mirror repair. :-)

In regard to donations,
Some projects, for example Ardour the audio production program have monthly donations. On top of that they have monthly goals to meet. this enables users to pledge X amount per month without having to worry about remembering, and it helps users band together and help development
While ardour is a much larger project - but I wonder if the same tactic could be applied. After all Trinity has extremely loyal users who have been sticking onto kde3.5 for years.
