Hello Mike
I'm not sure what the Save issue might be but could you also try opening something via Firefox?
Well, could please specify "something"?
If my theory is correct then it has to do with something trying to override the Firefox Open/Save dialogs.

I guess so. And it's probably got something to do with Trinity's default browser Konqueror.

Have you tried setting firefox as default brower? Or checking the file associations? I don't use firefox so I can't test.

Sure. But the ff as default preference is somehow "greyed out" and can't be changed. Also trying to change file associations does not change anything.

Firefox doesn't work, Now I use Chromium.
I know some of the french team developpers in Paris, they prefer to be in holidays.

Well, some say it does!
Funny thing is, file selection works in Gtk apps like Gimp or LibreOffice.
Probably all Mozilla stuff is affected: Firefox, and Thunderbird and Seamonkey as well (not using both of them however). And there's no problem in KDE5/Plasma. – Maybe I can get a backup of an outdated version just for testing to see if there's a difference.
Meanwhile I've also been using Qt web browser Falkon.

Double-click on a random HTML file, if you have one handy.

No, the likely culprits are gtk-qt-engine, gtk3-qt-engine, or kgtk-qt3 (the packages for your distro may not have exactly those names, but they should be close). Uninstall any of those you may have and see if the problem clears up. If it doesn't, create a new user with the default settings, open Firefox with that user, and see if the problem persists. If it does, the next step is to try reinstalling Firefox.
