Hi, I'm sorry for the shortcomings you may experience with it. This means that Trinity package for PCLinuxOS aren't 100% compatible with the newer packages used on PCLinuxOS. As of now, you can use the system as is after the install, but without upgrading it.
I'll work at making the new version of it available very soon. It will have newer kernel (better hardware support) and the TDE packages are built against the new libraries used in the present version of PCLinuxOS. Coming soon!
There is currently no plans to make a 64 bit version of my remaster, since 64 bit machines has enough power to handle more than TDE, but there is always the possibility to change the Kernel to one that supports more RAM on 32 bit machines.

Hi Alexandre, No need to apologize the remaster works really well. You can't be faulted if they make changes that are not compatible and I hope you don't feel like I was critisizing you as I would not. I was just hoping someone else had seen it and said oh yeah just pin package X and you will be fine. I look forward to trying out your next version. I ran the old one for a few months before it broke and honestly I thought it was something I did until I tried a few fresh installs.
I am pretty good at respinning Debian/Ubuntu systems and have even compiled my own Centos spin but I have yet to figure out how to do the same on PCLinux and I really enjoy your work.

John, I have exactly the same problem on my Compaq laptop with the NEW pclinuxos2014. However, the problem dissapeared after I did an upgrage, using keys ( instead of mouse ) to get to synaptic. After the upgrade, the problem stayed away. Muse works perfectly now.

My compaq is also intel only

I have 8 Gb RAM, and pclos sees all
Hope this helps somewhere somehow

I see no <<real difference >>in performance on 32bit hardware and 64bit hardware with the same amount of RAM The difference only is visible when increasing RAM

I am very happy with pclos-tde so far .

Alexandre, May I draw your attention to the fact that the pclos of today has certain, or shall I say, a lot of issues concerning google-earth. On your last year's remaster, google-earth worked <perfectly>. After updating pclos libraries to current state, I have not been able to get google-earth working , neither on your remaster, nor on the original, be that the standard or the minime version.. The better news is, that I use google-earth purely for amusement, not because of need. There is always google-maps
Thanks Tony

Hi,
The remaster is currently near release. All I need to do is to skim it out a little bit, since the ISO is now 2gb. But, what is to understand is that it includes tons of software, this is why it is so large.
I'll look at google-earth issues, but I'm not sure if it will be part of the new ISO, because it is already big. On the new stuff, there is Wine (Win compatibility layer), XBMC (A Media Center) and all the system is updated, so no more printer issues.

Thanks Tony I will try that out if I get some time this weekend. Easter so family stuff going on.
Alexandre I think Wine is a great idea I do use it myself to play some games so it is one of the first things I install. I like the PlayonLinux frontend makes it super easy to use.

Hi Alexandre
It's OK to NOT include google-earth if you wish so. At the moment it's recommended on the forum to install google earth from the google site, and not from the repos. So, maybe it's better you do not include it, BUT leave a small text file on the desktop with a message, explaining why. That way you don't get "" complaints "" either.
Have fun over there :-) Tony

One thing that I would ask you to check is my machine will no longer talk to the time servers. It gives me an error message "Unable to contact time server: europe.pool.ntp.org". It doesn't matter if I choose another one, I still get the same message.
Thanks:
