Let me try it the correct way and see. I always upgrade by changing the
sources.list file to point at Jaunty and then do an apt-get dist-upgrade,
but that is not recommended at all by the (K)ubuntu folks. I may have to
patch the upgrade tool and push that update out to the Intrepid systems
before an easy upgrade path to Jaunty is available.
I would not recommend removing KDE3.5 and then reinstalling it. It has a
nasty habit of resetting certain things when you do that (due to the
removal of kubuntu-default-settings-kde3 while a user is logged in), such
as any Amarok playlists you might have.
I hope to have something available in the next couple of days.
Sorry about the delay!
Tim
Thanks, Tim. That's great news.
What is the proper procedure for upgrading? I currently have several
Intrepid systems with KDE 3.5. When I tested the water with an
upgrade to Jaunty it looked like most of kde3 was getting removed. So
I canceled the upgrade.
What is the expected upgrade path? Do I run the upgrade, then
reinstall your debs? Can someone on this list report on their upgrade
experience? I'm looking forward to doing it just as soon as I know
how.
