So, I'd like to compile the 3.5.13 src on ubuntu 12.04.
Before I start making deb-build scripts: anyone got some? I have the 3.5.13-monolithic tarball.
(Or could one simply get the deb-src for the oneiric-packages and run them through buildpackage?)

You will run into problems, as core libraries have changed in 12.04, rendering many TDE 3.5.13 modules unable to compile on that platform.
Is this desire to compile from source related to the nightly build mirror problems?

Well, of course. For weeks now I am on XFCE using what's left from the last installation. I like XFCE, but it doesn't play too nice with kde apps in terms of session management and other things, and I'd much prefer to have Trinity back.

Due to popular request I have bypassed the mirror system for the nightly builds. This will yield terrible download speeds when installing the nightly builds, but at least you shouldn't run into fatal errors while doing so.

Thaaaaaaaanks!
But what's with your mirror system? Where's the problem?

The problem comes from the same slow speeds you will experience shortly. ;-) Mirroring 50GB of data takes several weeks on the TDE server connection.

What.. server do you have there...? I just calculated a week at 10 MBit, but you're not going out on 10MBit aren't you?
What about hosting the files on sourceforge or similar service..?

Think slower than 10MBit. ;-)
There is still the problem of getting the files out of the build farm. The amount of server resources required to build TDE, especially nightly, precludes outside hosting of the build farm itself.
I may get another fundraiser together to increase the speed of the connection, but I need to run some calculations first.
