How? There doesn't seem to be an option for it. It comes up in irritating icon view by default.

Get your window looking as you like it, then Settings > Save View Profile "File Management"

I've tried that. It's fine for that directory. But if I go to another one, it shows it in Icon View again. It's as if there is some global default that operates.
However, further investigation reveals that the profile I thought I was loading was 'File Management', but I was actually loading 'Web Browsing'. So that's fixed.
Which leads to the next question: in the command-line, does 'konqueror' load the web-browsing profile, and 'kfmclient' load the file-management profile?
