I wanted to apply 1f39650 for qt-x11-free that fixes the 812, but its application has resulted in crash almost all programs - see http://trinity-devel.pearsoncomputing.net/?0::5251 - with this I need help.
In addition to patches for qt-x11-free on my list of issues remains to be many problems with Kaffeine, for which I do not have patches and solutions. And then also a minor issue with displaying of SVG wallpapers (bugs #744, #615). Does anyone have any other useful patches suitable for backport?
Packages with the above patches are in my PPA source ready to test - for Squeeze, Oneiric, Natty, Maverick and Lucid. I will be happy if you want to test. See https://quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/~slavek-banko/+archive/axis

Thanks for doing this. I haven't had any issues with the apps I use.
Kymoney was a non starter here...literally would not start... thanks, I am trying kmymoney out now.

Many thanks for doing this. Would it be possible to send me those patches ? I would like to integrate them into the funtoo/gentoo-ebuilds that we are putting together..

I attach an archive containing patches. It would be good if it were possible to have a branch in git - for example 3.5.3-updates, to which would be incorporated these patches.
The archive also contains a patch for qt-x11-free, but so far I've used - on Squeeze it caused crash all applications.
Furthermore, in archive are patch kdebase/documents-folder.diff and kdenetwork/99b_kopete_nowlistening.diff for which I yet did not report bugs to which they relate.

As I have a "test box" with a new squeeze/tde install I tried a dist-upgrade using the ppa repo https://quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/~slavek-banko/+archive/axis
Unfortunately bug #394 and it's relatives (kdesu) reappeared.

I checked that changes from 2b178a53 commit to solve error 394, are in the source code. And it does not appear that any of the used patches should have an impact to kdesu.

All I can say is, the user's dcopserver crashed after using kdesu, as reported elsewhere.. I since downgraded, before noticing whether the startkde patch (which seems to fix a number of related bugs because $KDEROOTHOME was being set to user's ~) was present but could take a second look.

probably others
Other than that I'm please to see some updated and patched debs, for those of us who do not know cmake very well.
David
I saw some recent updates in https://quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/~slavek-banko/+archive/axis
I tried again in my Squeeze "test" install with 3.5.13 a full dist-upgrade with that repo enabled, around 120MB. Made sure to close kdm first.
The previous kdesu problems seem fixed. Kaffeine too is working fine, including DVB (I read there was a bug where it doesn't override the screensaver, not an issue here as I don't use screensavers)
So far, no problems whatsoever; many 3.5.13 bugs seem fixed. Looks good enough to do the same on my main machine.
There seems little publicity at the moment, no mention at http://www.trinitydesktop.org A 3.5.13 deb-packaged updates repo is just marvelous for those of us who use Trinity as main DE but are affected by R13 bugs.

Sounds good - does ksysguard detect the hw sensors?
After the kdm cpu thrash bug that was the second show stopper for me.

<snip> Agreed - we've held off upgrading for just that reason. We realize how huge a step forward 3.5.13 was and so have been waiting for it to settle down a bit. Thanks - John

I assumed that when the update will be prepared and tested (and not so often supplemented by other patches), so Tim pulled this as the official update - to the standard Trinity apt sources.
In my "viewfinder" now remain these reported problems: #406 [Regression] KMail always checks mail after sending #407 [Regression] KMail text disappears #615 KSVG shows only black previews #744 Some built-in desktop backgrounds don't work #859 Kaffeine does not block screensaver #692 Kate: focus is broken when using the --use parameter
Errors #406 and #407 I take to be less important - do not consider as blocking the release of updates.
Errors #615 and #744 are more important, but also do not consider as blocking the release of updates.
Bug #859 I would like to see corrected, but even after repeated studying the source code I found nothing. I'm starting to worry that the problem is elsewhere - perhaps in kwin?
For #692 I'm waiting that will be incorporated into the GIT and I consider whether to again update kdebase packages...

Might be less important for you but maximum anoying for me. I have (at least) 2 mail accounts. Each time I want to send a mail via 1st account KMail checks mail for all accounts. But my other accounts do allow me a mail checking only every 15 minutes. Since 3.5.13 I can not send mail without accepting a bunch of error messages on my screen from the other mail accounts.
Just to let you know that #406 is really disturbing for others
thanks for reading Gerhard

I understand - I have usually in KMail 4, 5 accounts. Also I'm really not too happy ... But I do not mind it too much. In the mail archive folders I disabled email scanning and checks for new messages got at an acceptable level.
In the account settings you can choose whether to be included in the manual mail checking, which excludes the account from this check caused by sending a message.

I forgot to mention that I know about the problems caused by SAK, but because I never convinced about its usefulness, I do not care about his repairing - I simply recommend: turn it off. :)
