Hi people,
Running into dcopserve and tdelaunch failures.
I did all the usual things. deleted dop etc etc files, check perms and the like. Even created a new user.Different machines etc. Root runs with very little problem but still has those errors on occasion.
General question... Anyone else encounter this?
Kate

r14.0.7
Dear Kate: I had the same problem. Was a problem on libICE that store the dcop socket on different place. The solution was downgrade libICE.
Best Regards Christian

That's weird! Problem with libice >= 1.10.x should be a thing of the past in R14.0.7. There have been adjustments in tdelibs and tdebase that are related to it. Have there been any other changes to the libice?
I am confused and concerned.
Cheers

Dear, I know that tde people has fixed the bug. But not all distros have updated now. I updated my opensuse tumbleweed 7 days ago and TDE stop working ( dcop problem).
rpm -ivh --force libICE ( old version) and voila TDE is running again.
note: tumbleweed is a rolling version, allways update entire system.
Best Regards Christian

Hi Christian,
the RPM repository for OSS TW already contains R14.0.7 packages. So it should also be resolved for your distribution:
http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/rpm/osstw/trinity-r14/
Cheers

OK tried downgrading on the affected machines. It didn't help. Doing a reinstall on one machine with the ice version locked. I have a sinking feeling something else is going on.
I hope I'm wrong.
