I use my laptop for multimedia connected to external screen and run it with the lid closed, well when I close the lid the screen locks and I have to plug a external keyboard in to type the password, what a pain and it would help a lot if I can turn off screen session lock. Anybody know how to turn it off?
Thanks,

delete/rename kdesktop_lock. You wouldnt be able to shutdown/reboot from tde menu, but no other negative effects.

Thanks for the heads up on the config file, so far I've done one better.
"lockMethod=" I just left it blank. Shutdown an reboot with no problem except for a notice that it's not configured but that notice goes away and everything goes back to normal.
Thanks,

Have you tried TDEPowersave -> Settings -> General (might not be exact english name as I use different locale)
there is lid close, powerbutton etc. I disable everything but powerbutton action. Then you can close lid and work on.
However I do not get the point with plug in external keyboard - you said note book - why can you not access the keyboard on your notebook - you just need to open the lid
regards

Sometimes I use a laptop as a workstation. I plug in a kb, mouse and large monitor. Then I close the laptop to keep it safe.

I'm pretty sure that you can disable all those feature in the power-saving settings. I don't do it for closing the laptop lid, but I generally disable the power-saver settings when I am using my screensaver, and that's where I see the setting to power off when the lid is closed, etc.
