Good afternoon from Spain,
I have checked Kaffeine, Noatun, Kaboodle, Codeine and KMplayer as video players for Matroska contained Theora videos. In Kaffeine and KMplayer I got the audio playing but in any of them the full video was supported.
I wanted to know if there was some support being worked in format support in any of the video players and which was the most promisings.
As a workaround, I changed the container of the videos to OGV using ffmpeg built-in "copy codec" which got the video working at least in Kaffeine (KMplayer has some issues changing the size of the window and only a part of the video is showed).
Hi Echedey López Romero via tde-users,

Smplayer as frontend and mplayer as engine work perfectly here. Install them with aptitude so as to resolve eventual dependencies.
Regards, Peter.

Thank you for the fast reply Peter.
I used SMPlayer before changing to Kaffeine and making the conversion of the file container. I wanted to know about the state in Trinity apps itself.

There is kplayer with backend mplayer which is in the preliminary test builds (PTB)
Thank you, that sounds great.

I do not know who is using this application but as it was scheduled to enter official 14.1 release, I think it is now the right time to get feedback and improvements.
