I let my system do the full 3.5.13.2 upgrade, but now almost all the icons in my T-menu (kicker menu) are gone. The program icons are still there, but the category icons are pretty much all gone. I saw the same behavior on another system of another user that upgraded.
I'm using Ubuntu Precise. I have no other DEs installed.
Does anyone here know what's going on and whether it can be solved?
Thanks in advance, Julius

There was a recent reference on either this list or the devel list that libpng might be causing a problem. Can you send a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Thanks!

I had a similar problem at some point and the cause was that the icon size of some icons were set to zero.
Try this: In TDE control center, in the appearance, icon section, try to change the size of every kinds of icons. You can even select back the same size as it was in the list. Then, click on apply and look back at your kicker menu. It might require a logout/login to work.
I discovered that sometimes, not always, some visual settings are not saved as a part of a theme in kthememanager. Also, some settings are not restored as they should every time someone change of theme. Timothy, if you want to see well this behaviour, it will be on the next release of my livecd.
Let me know if it works for you! -Alexandre

Hello, I "often" see this problem on fresh install, but still haven't found the definitive answer.
I believe this problem is related to having KDE4 installed and some files under /etc/xdg/menus from KDE4 (or distribution-global) take precedence over TDE's ones under /opt/trinity/etc/xdg . Since categories names and/or icons names are not identical, TDE reads XML file from KDE4 then tries to load icons that do not exist under /opt/trinity.
I believe that having environment variables (KDEDIRS, XDG_DATA_DIRS ...) set by the "startkde" script was sufficient to workaround the problem under 3.5.13.2 but maybe I'm wrong.
BTW I currently have the same problem on freshly built R14 + new user profile, so I still do not understand how it works exactly...

I have prepared an updated Live / Install CD for TDE 3.5.13.2 on Ubuntu Precise 12.04.2 and have not noticed any such problems. Likewise, have not noticed this problem on Debian Squeeze and Debian Wheezy.
