At this point, I'm waiting for someone on the kde-pim list to tell me how to make kmail5 work. In the meantime I've

been unpacking amanda backups by hand trying to recover

my email corpus that goes back to about 2002, but can't get kmail5 to see it, or to connect to send. And its strange, I had a whole bunch of konsoles open when I went to bed about 4ish, but I had 12 empty workspaces when I woke up just before 10ish. Something killed everything in the notso wee hours and according to uptime it was NOT rebooted in the night.

32 gigs of memory is good, I ran memtest 2 full cycles before I did the 3rd install. Snilmerg? DIIK.
