I guess not everyone uses it, but I rely on kalzium often. I still find the layout of kalzium-trinity better than the one of KDE-trinity (KDE 5), however the periodic table does not scale. I have no idea how the code looks (and would probably not understand it) so maybe it's too much works, or is impossible. I've looked in the apps directory, but the table seems to be created from within the code, so I get no idea why the table does not scale when the windows goes full screen. If there was a way to bring kalzium to 2020, I'd be happy to help.
