Is there a way to delete a KMail profile, so a brand new profile (using KWallet, etc.) can be created from scratch? I've looked in various directories, including hidden and found nothing obvious.
Thanks.

Have a look at ~/.trinity/share/apps/kmail/profile-local-rc …

Kind regards, Stefan

Hi Stefan,
In the .../kmail directory, there is no such file or directory beginning with 'profile...' here. There are five other directories, a file 'lock' and four other files beginning with 'unfiltered' that have random numbers after each.

TDE config files are almost always in ~/.trinity somewhere. Usually containing [most of] the app name and ending with rc. Just dig until you find it...
Best, Michael

all configuration is (should be) in .trinity/share/config/
I have the mentioned file ~/.trinity/share/apps/kmail/profile-local-rc actually on my system and its obviously defining a profile (it also appears in kmail's "Load Profile" dialog):
$ cat .trinity/share/apps/kmail/profile-local-rc [KMail Profile] Name=Stefan's lokales Profil Comment=all meine in den Jahren bewährten Einstellungen
[Reader] defaultColors=true showColorbar=false htmlMail=false
[Fonts] defaultFonts=true
# should this profile be restricted to font and color changes? [Geometry] nestedMessages=false longFolderList=true
[General] dateDisplay=ctime showMessageSize=false showCryptoIcons=false
[MDN] quote-message=0 default-policy=0
Cheers, Stefan

Profile definitions are in ~/.trinity/share/config/kmailrc

I think perhaps, I need to reprhase my inquiry.
I want to use Kmail anew, from scratch, starting with no profile, that presumably would be created once I began to use it.
What current files do I need to delete in order to do this?
Thanks again.

The easiest way would probably be to | mv .trinity/share/config/kmail .trinity/share/config/kmail-old | mkdir .trinity/share/config/kmail | cp -a .trinity/share/config/kmail-old/mail .trinity/share/config/kmail/ (the last is your actual emails) and restart kmail.
Less drastic would be to delete or rename | .trinity/share/apps/kmail/kmcomposerui.rc | .trinity/share/apps/kmail/kmmainwin.rc | .trinity/share/apps/kmail/kmreadermainwin.rc | .trinity/share/config/kmailcvtrc | .trinity/share/config/kmail.eventsrc | .trinity/share/config/kmailrc | .trinity/share/config/kmailsnippetrc and restart kmail. (Somebody please comment on this if a sanity-check shows that more steps need to be taken.)
