Hi all!
I just found a problem on my T14 with TDE 14.0.10: Konqueror does not show
previews of video files. It turned out that the package "mplayerthumbs-trinity" was missing. Isn't there a dependency that sould pull in this package?

The package, in PCLOS, is called trinity-mplayerthumbs When I did a search for mplayerthumbs-trinity, nothing showed up. Try trinity-mplayerthumbs or just mplayerthumbs
What distro btw (not that it would make a diff I think)?

That's installed and does nothing. I see the process "tdeio_thumbnail" some and go and the teeth of "T" in konqueror keep spinning, but nothing happens.

ok check you embedded file associations for video. Also, try right clicking on a video and choose an app from the "preview" menu section.

Yep, identical to the settings on my T61 (where it works like a charm). libarts1-xine-trinity is alo installed - this package missing was the reson I ran into the very same problem years ago.

MPlayerThumbs relies on MPlayer as a backend to process video preview. Does MPlayer play that video?

Definitly. My T61 shows the preview, The T14 not. T14 was a fresh installation (chimaera) while T61 is old (beowulf). VLC plays the video, as does mplayer. But it looks like the tdeio_thumbnil process dies and gets restarted again and again on the T14 while it works on the T61. Problem is, I don't see any debug output :(
