Out of curiosity, does anyone know the source of some of the wallpapers used in Trinity? Some of them are in 4:3 such as Fulmine, Triple Gears, etc. and they're quite low quality on newer 1080p+ monitors. I really like these and wonder if there's higher resolution versions anywhere that aren't stretched.

It would be nice to be able to adapt some of the wallpapers from the newer KDE et al. They definitely have some good stuff out there, and it doesn't seem like it would be too hard (for some) to adapt them to TDE. But I am just speculating.
I believe somebody long ago mentioned how to create our own themes and such, but I never heard any more.

No, we don't have the original materials (GIMP/3d/whatever files) for the older raster wallpapers, just what was in the KDE3 artwork releases (believe me, I'm the one who swapped KDE -> TDE branding pixel by pixel on some of them). Larger versions may exist in the hands of the original artists, but someone would have to track them down.
There are some vector wallpapers in the original group that should expand to whatever screen size is required.
I did a half-assed upsize of "Alien Night" to 1920x1200 for my own use by scaling it up slightly and using GIMP filters to extend the edges, but I don't think it's good enough to redistribute. Most of the pictures are just complex enough to make it nontrivial to build out the sides. That's why we added that batch of larger photographic wallpapers.

I wouldn't even know where to start for the original artists. Perhaps we could try AI upscaling.
