I just installed Debian 6.0 (Squeeze) on my laptop. I wanted to go with
the latest, but I also wanted to replace KDE with Trinity..
is this possible, and if so, where do I start?

firmware-ipw2x00 (debian non-free) is required for my 2915 ABG
A really good tool for first-off configuration is ceni. It's not in
Debian (yet) but mepis has it, works here on Squeeze.

Well done for purging kde4!
Don't forget the Debian bizcard install method, you get just the base
then install the rest manually. You can use smxi for most of it. Cuts
the bloat and the gnome/kde4.

Squueze, the FIRST thing
I did was install LXDE then trinity:)
that was the whole purpose of installing Squeeze on my laptop, so I
could play with Trinity.. I am running Lenny on my desktop, and I DO NOT
want to mess with my wifes KDE 3 setup right now:)

I added the following to my sources.list, Debian Squeeze here also. The trinity
packages have '-trinity' atrtached to the the package name, otherwise same naming
as KDE3.
i.e. 'kdebase-trinity'
deb http://mirror.its.uidaho.edu/pub/trinity/trinity-builddeps/debian squeeze main
multiverse restricted universe

I have previously done a basic install and added a GUI and the other things
that I want to use. To get KDE3 in Lenny I did:
aptitude install kde
So, provided that I have edited my sources.list appropriately and updated, can
I just do:
aptitude install kde-trinity
