Except it was still 14.0.10 acc the kmail pulldown. So I checked synaptics repo list and found trinity was unchecked. Don't recall doing it, but I am after all your resident old fart at 87, Checked it, refreshed it and clicked up updates again, this time ok-ing around 70 pkgs. It took quite a few minutes, and restarting tdm-trinity wasn't enough, I was looking at a non-x text terminal, so I did a sudo reboot, which it did.
Restart looked normal so I restarted kmail, verified it was ok, and went to the first 2 workspaces and started all the other stuff that is my home network and log monitoring tails. As thats about 10 ssh processes it took a few, but then when I got back to the kmail workspace I had the basic window but blanked, and I could mouse move it around the screen, but it still took about a minute to redraw the kmail screen.
Since then it looks and acts totally normal. And its reported as 14.0.11
Thank you, Slavec and company. looking great.
Cheers, Gene Heskett.
