What if you start konqueror with
konqueror --profile filemanagement
If I recall correctly, KFMclient is an ancient alias that should be equivalent, but it may have lingering bits that have not been updated in a very---very long time.

In the Properties for Home.desktop, the Command field had
kfmclient openProfile filemanagement
which I changed to
konqueror --profile filemanagement
but when I restarted Konqueror it looked exactly the same.
