Hi,
I would ask, if there is a reason, why the xterm in r14 starts with black foreground and black background, which may only suitable for blinds and can best read with braille devices?

I noticed that as well; I'm not sure why this happens. Perhaps a bug report is in order so that we don't lose track of this for our next SRU?

On my system (Debian/Jessie), xterm starts with black background and white fonts, perfectly readable. Not sure if the problem is Ubuntu related or X-related.

an inadvertent experiment here. on my notebook machine, which was happy to upgrade to ubuntu 14.04, it's white with black text. but on the desktop machine, which didn't want to go to 14.04 from 12.04 but did take R14, it's still white text on a black background.
