Is there a problem with the mirrors? If not, what does a <quote> 403 Forbidden </quote> error mean?
Are there any alternative mirrors to:
deb http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main deb-src http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main deb http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-builddeps-v3.5.13... squeeze main deb-src http://ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net/trinity/trinity-builddeps-v3.5.13... squeeze main

Where are you getting 403 forbidden? Please post a link.
Hi, Tim,
I have been getting this error report since yesterday evening (around 9 hours ago). Half of Trinity installed OK, and then this. :-(

I been getting hash sum mismatch and 403's also, but on the "nightly" repo. I had assumed it maybe a bad time and the mirror was in the process of change.
Best practice always is to do <apt-get update && apt-get -d install whatever> first so you will be sure everything is fetched properly before commiting to install (and maybe break something) Or if you use aptitude, whatever is the equivalent. If any errors, try again later.

Erm... How much later? I tried several times yesterday evening and again this morning. I had to give the computer back to its owner!
Is this a regular occurrence, and do I need to come to the conclusion that Trinity is only usable when I am installing for members of my own household?
I have sadly gradually been coming to the conclusion that Trinity is probably a DE for geeks. This is not a complaint; I think that you are all wonderful and am full of admiration for what you are doing. But I am beginning to wonder whether I should be trying to use it. I don't use Sid (Debian unstable) because I could not get myself out of trouble. Perhaps on the same logic, I ought not to use Trinity. :-(

When I got error 403 when downloading packages, so I have to apt source instead of "general" ppa.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net gave a specific mirror. For example:
deb http://depot-trinity.dotriver.eu/trinity-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main deb http://depot-trinity.dotriver.eu/trinity-builddeps-v3.5.13/debian squeeze main

Encountering 403 errors is not a good sign; one of the mirrors must be at least partially broken.

I think I see the problem...there are no debian->ubuntu symlinks on your mirror. These symlinks are present in the rsync source folder, so rsync must not be transferring them for some reason. Have you passed either the --archive (preferred) or --links flags to rsync?
Thanks!

I have added additional checks to the mirror round-robin controller, so you should not experience any more 403 errors when installing TDE on Debian even if a mirror or two are having problems.
If the 403 errors persist please let me know...
Thanks!

That mirror appears to be reporting its status as up while containing missing files. I have removed it from the mirror system until the maintainer can repair it.

Hello, the following mirror is out-of-sync and causes problem with RPM repositories: http://depot-trinity.dotriver.eu/
For example, you should have the following file, dated June 30th, but it is missing: http://depot-trinity.dotriver.eu/trinity/rpm/el6/trinity-extras-SRPMS.list
All RPM packages inside this repository are severely outdated (about 3 months old).
