Good day everyone,
has anybody seen this? I prepared a bug report. I'm not sure where I
should post it these days… TGW rather than bugzilla, I guess, right?
Problem:
When I click on the systray icon the xserver crashes fatally.
TDE configuration:
TDE keyboard layout is configured to provide de, de-neo, en-us keyboard
layouts in that order. Keyboard layouts are applied at program level.
Reproduce:
Click on desktop and/or program window and then click on keyboard layout
icon in systray.
Symptoms:
The screen goes black immediately and I have no more control via
keyboard or mouse. After ~20-25 seconds I can hear a beep from the
mainboard (it's a desktop PC), after another ~10-15 seconds I hear
another beep, and sometimes a third one, after which a console screen
appears from which I gather that Xorg crashed fatally.
Any advice welcome, thanks.

Hi Stefan,
yes, as programmers we prefer TGW because it provides better linking with
the source code. And users might like that there are better formatting
capabilities (markdown syntax). For example, you can structure your report
there (titles, instructions with numbered steps and so on) as you put it
here in the mail.
I tried to reproduce the problem in Slax with Trinity. When I tried to set
up the keyboard layouts according to your instructions, switching worked
normally until I added 'de-neo' and moved it to the second position -
after 'de'. Then the switch attempt caused the xserver to stop => did not
crash, but the screen remained frozen. In some of the other attempts, it
caused the xserver to crash.
Please try to see if it works for you if you move 'de-neo' to the third
position - the order: de, en-us, de-neo. Or when you move en-us to the
first position - the order: en-us, de, de-neo.
Please be sure to report it as issue - I assume it belongs to tdebase.
