Hello,
On a Jessie-Debian, last version of Trinity, the package "kmail-trinity" cannot be installed : "a lot of librairies are uninstallable" : Is it au bug ?
(I use "synaptic" or aptitude install kmail-trinity)
I see on the trinity web site, that the package "kmail-trinity.deb" doesn't exist.
Thanks for your answer.
André

If you are using the apt resource for final R14.0.0, then it's not a bug, but a logical consequence - see:
http://bugs.pearsoncomputing.net/show_bug.cgi?id=2406#c4

Why do you install manually using dpkg (with which you have to manually solve all dependencies) instead of use apt-get or aptitude?
If you have added apt sources for 'preliminary-stable-builds', simply use: apt-get install kmail-trinity

D'oh! I hadn't picked that up. I was too concentrated on how to solve the dependencies! I should keep my mouth shut. :-(

Can you give me the lines to change in the sources.list ("trinity-builddeps-r14.0.0" => "preliminary-stable-builds" ?)
Do I have to delete my actual trinity-kde, before to re-install it ?
Thank for your help.

Quoting from the reference Slávek gave you above: <quote> Final R14.0.0 cannot be used. In fact, for Jessie should not be released at all, because at that time Jessie was too moving target => updates in Jessie caused an invalid dependencies.
I recommend using the R14.0.1 preliminary-stable-builds. Compared to R14.0.0 contains some useful patches. Packages are currently available in alternative apt source known as 'preliminary-stables-builds'. It is sufficient to use one line to the apt source:
deb http://mirror.xcer.cz/trinity-sb jessie deps-r14 main-r14 </quote> You will also need the key: # apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.quickbuild.pearsoncomputing.net --recv-keys 00A58606 A04BE668
Note that Slávek says that you only need the one line in your sources list.
Do I have to delete my actual trinity-kde, before to re-install it ?
I would expect it to sort itself out. You can use:
# aptitude install kmail-trinity
or Synaptic - or even apt-get!

I left out, after you have altered your sources.list, you need to do (change for preferred pacakage manager)
# aptitude update # aptitude safe-upgrade # aptitude full-upgrade
There may not be anything to do at this last stage.
Then install kmail-trinity if it is not already there.

Hello,
It works fine ! kmail is up to date and others TDE packages.
Congratulations to promote Desktop TDE (ex KDE 3.5), and thanks a lot.
KDE4 is too "heavy", Gnome changes alle the time, and the other Desktop are too simplistic... TDE is the ideal Desktop and to keep and promote it is a fantastic idea. (no too heavy, very attractive and useful).
So, I belong to a LUG (Linux Users Group) www.starinux.org (promotion of Linux and free software by several curses), 800 membres. Whe have many relations in France and West Europe : how can we help you ?

Install the ones which aren't installed:
# aptitude install libical0 libindex0-trinity libjpeg8 libkleopatra1-trinity libkmime2-trinity libkpimidentities1-trinity libksieve0-trinity libktnef1-trinity
One long line, of course. Or anyhow only put in spaces not returns.
Or I think that you can do (I am not an apt-get user):
# apt-get -f install kmail-trinity
