I'm trying to install Trinity 14.1 on my brand new Ubuntu 20.04 Gnome(ugh) pc.
I have the ppa(s) set up in /etc/apt/sources.list.d : deb http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/deb/trinity-r14.1.x <noble> main deps deb-src http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/deb/trinity-r14.1.x <noble> main deps
I did the import of the GPG signing key.
Doing a $ sudo apt-get update
gives me this: : : : Ign:5 http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/deb/trinity-r14.1.x <noble> InRelease Err:6 http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/deb/trinity-r14.1.x <noble> Release 404 Not Found [IP: 37.205.10.16 80] Reading package lists... Done E: The repository 'http://mirror.ppa.trinitydesktop.org/trinity/deb/trinity-r14.1.x <noble> Release' does not have a Release file. N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
Huh? Looking in Index of /trinity/deb/trinity-r14.1.x/dists/noble/ I see both InRelease _and_ Release files
Thnks for any help! I reall, Really, REALLY want to be shed of this &^#(*&^%$@ Gnome! Jonesy

Hi Jonesy,
Please remove the angle brackets from around noble in both occurrences in your file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d

Dooh!!! I should have seen that! I was just too tired from spending countless hours trying the beat netplan and YAML (Yet Another Miserable Lingo) mashup into submission.
Thank you for your quick and courteous reply! Trinity is now installed.

Hello.
I looked at your source list. I found it suitable, just don't need to use "less (<) " and "greater (>)" symbols in distribution release name Meow!
