Hi!
Just wondering, is R14.0.10 still going to be available as a repository for a while?
Thanks,
Gianluca

Hi Gianluca,
once binary packages for R14.0.11 are published, these replaces the previous packages for R14.0.10 (for currently supported distributions). Source tarballs remain available for all releases.
Cheers
Are the packages of R14.0.11 compatible with R14.0.10 for the same distribution, or do you have to upgrade all TDE packages to R14.0.11?
Thanks,
Gianluca

The release of the new version is done so that all packages for the corresponding version are built for all supported distributions. This gives the assurance that all packages are built on the same basis. Of course, R14.0.x series is being prepared to keep the compatibility there, so mixing R14.0.10 and R14.0.11 built for the same distribution would be possible, but there is no reason to do it.
For distributions whose support has been ended, the packages for the last supported version remain in the repository. For example, in repository continues to be available packages TDE R14.0.10 for Wheezy because packages TDE R14.0.11 will no longer be built for Wheezy.
Cheers

Can you please clarify what you mean by "there is no reason to do it"? Do you mean that if you have R14.0.10 installed you should upgrade all packages to R14.0.11 or that it's OK to grab a package from R14.0.11 while the rest is from R14.0.10?
Thanks for your time!
Gianluca

Cioa Gianluca, it is recommended to update to R14.0.11 to get the latest fixes. R14.0.x is very stable and it is extremely unlikely you will run into update problems. Cheers Michele
