Hi Guys,
For some really weird reason my Emails are not shown in any of the lists that I post to. I seem to receive all posts except my own, which suggests that no one else see's them either. I've Emailed Tim directly and he answered a couple of them. I normally post from "baron@linuxmaniac.net" which I have registered in all lists. I've re-registered as Tim suggested. This address, the one used for this post, I don't normally use, and is not registered, but since Alexandre replied to my "Error message" post (Thanks Alexandre) I still don't see either of my/the original posts.
I don't know which posts other people see and I don't know if I am getting all the posts.
:-( miffed :-(

They are getting through all right. I wondered why you sent the identical message yesterday at 20:43 and 20:44 from different addresses.
You are probably getting the other emails O.K therefore. Your SMTP method must just act like Gmail, whioch doesn't give you copies of your own mails in lists if you use their SMTP server. I get round this by not using their SMTP server. I find it annoying to have my emails left out of a thread.
You could check whether your posts are getting through to your lists by looking in the archives, where the list in question has an archive. Where there is an archive you could also check if you have received all the other posts.

Thank you for your reply. It had not occured to me that Gmail played that trick. "linuxmaniac.net" is a Gmail account !
I'm using another isp account for this post. Lets see if this one is visible to me.
Hi Guys, Sorry for top post !
Thanks to Lisi for clueing me up on Gmail behaviour. Also thanks to Alexandre and Michele for replying to me, and thanks Michele for pointing me at the web archive. My apologies to Tim for me not understanding the problem and thinking it was a list issue.
I've changed the isp that I use to send mail and this seems to have overcome the silly Gmail issue. hence my abilty to reply to my own post.
Thanks all.

Sorry I wasn't much help! All I could see on this end was that the servers were operating normally and not "eating" your messages.
I'll file the Gmail info away in case this crops up with anyone else. ;-)

Good Idea ! Its taken a while to find out what was happening. :-)
Baron, you can check the web version of the ML to see if your emails go through correctly http://www.trinitydesktop.org/mailinglist.php --> web archive
I sporadically had the same problem, but it was mainly down to Yahoo's mail playing dumb.
Cheers Michele
