Yes, it's true, Why the applications keep the letter "K" as KDE ? It should be "T" as Trinity. Twrite, Tedit, Tview, Tmail, Tonqueror...

No they shouldn't. They should stay the same name. These applications don't change to gonsole, gonqueror, gate, etc when they are run under Gnome.
"Konsole" etc work as names because they already start with a hard-C sound, so its just a cute spelling pun: "console" sounds exactly the same as "konsole".
But "tonsole" sounds like the organ at the back of your throat, the tonsil.
And let's be realistic: TDE is not precisely a popular desktop. Sad but true. Somebody looking for help with "Tmail" is going to find very little information unless Google is clever enough to say "Did you mean Kmail?" The existing names have worked fine for many years, let's not break what isn't broken.

Glad to be appreciated for my dubious talents. It was either that, or the explanatory YouTube video of kittens again.
Writing that short bit got to be a pain after the first sentence or so, but that was my point: imagine trying to rename all the packages! And then they will have to be correlated with all the legacy KDE3 and present TDE names. Batch renaming won't work too well, because too many packages have awkward names (e.g., knetworkmanager=network-manager-tde) which resist a simple K>T conversion. We would be better off to start over from scratch; otherwise, as Take* said, it's legacy, history.
Until we have enough TDE users, who care enough to change it, there is not much inconvenience, and surely we can just live with it.
It's okay if we're a little messy, I think, so long as we are consistent; but at present we are bound to the old KDE3 names.
Bill

As a user, I see no incovenience, only the joy of not seeing changed what ain't broke, and unrepeated consequent waste of time relearning. What a waste were KDE4 and 5. The KDE3 legacy is a great one. No material justification for changing TDE exists. What if people changed their names with every change of wardrobe?

I know not many people that regularily change their names, but I know many people that change their mind with every change of wardrobe - I think they are commonly referred as "politician" :-)

Would that we had at least one politician with a mind at all, changeable or not.

One's may compromise here, maybe, the same way mate-desktop did, they've rebranded some of their apps (ex: atril, caja,...) while some of them got a prefix (ex: mate-terminal).
Anyway, TDE should have its own identity and It shouldn't conflict with KDE4/5 stuff ; putting everything in /opt in order to avoid such conflicts was not the right call in my view.
How about tde-kate for instance, how does that sound for a native English speaker weird...ok...so-so?

I would rather prefer "tkate"
na, just change all "k" to "t", kate-> take, that's much clearer.

Oh, you look at it the wrong way. It's not TDE that conflicts with KDE, it's KDE that conflicts with TDE. KDE sould change the name of all applicattions to e.g. kde-terminal, kde-broken-konqueror, etc. Maybe KDE should also put a number in the name, as functionality drasticly changes from version to version, e.g. kde4-terminal, kde5-dolphin, kde5-unspeakable-kashew ...

I was joking...
I don't like KDE, too heavy and complex.
I prefer TDE and not use letter "K" anymore. tde-write, tde-konqueror... ?
But, not so easy to remove letter K.
