From clicking login to finishing reloading of the prior session containing only Konsole and Help Center windows took ~50 seconds, with the vast majority of it on the fifth of seven icons blinking. Other upgrades from 14.0.13 to 14.1.0 seem to be similarly affected, Debian, Fedora, Mageia & openSUSE so far IIRC. Are others noticing this?

I don't see anything like that (with one exception I'll discuss below).
Here's my laptop driving the main screen plus two external displays and with probably 100+ Firefox tabs accounting for 90%+ of the load on the CPU:

The exception I see is an old test laptop with a Mobile Pentium II which sometimes gets itself into a weird state where the CPU is running so slow that even just "top" uses 10% of the CPU. However it has been doing this on and off for years - probably since before TDE forked from KDE.
FWIW I have not tried running TDE as root.

Is the top from right after logging in? After upgrade (14.0-14.1) there are some scripts that are run once after first login. If it happens also on 2nd login and further, it must be local problem. But you say all of your flavors are infected, so is it only on first login after the upgrade or always?

Hi Felix, I don't see any issue here and most likely other people don't as well, otherwise we would have heard them screaming long ago :-) First thing I would check is if the same happens with a new account after a reboot. Cheers Michele

I remember a prolonged delay on the first start after the upgrade to 14.1 and now on 14.2. - but that's gone after the second login.
