This is 100% repeatable on 2 different PCs, one using AMD GPU, the other NVidia GPU, both with only FOSS drivers. When attempt is made to start a Plasma Xorg session from TDM, a window pops up that seems to have come from Trinity, not KDE, but that's just my suspicion. It says

Does this suggest where the fault lies, whether something wrong with TDE, or KDE?

Is there a possibility this results from a defective switch from Trinity beta from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/PunisherHD:/Trinity:/stable/... on beta Leap to the final Leap and François' build of Trinity? I don't remember if it worked or not in the betas. :(
